CVP Summer Dance Intensive

Join us June 2nd through June 6th for an exciting week of dance. Students 14 yrs.+ will focus on development and progression of proper dance technique, artistry, musicality and conditioning through various genres.  Though the program will be challenging, it is designed to be inclusive, allowing advanced and novice dancers to learn together in a supportive environment. This weeklong session will be taught by Kristin Ciuro.  She has taught our audition preparation classes and most recently choreographed Sister Act, SpongeBob the musical, and Crazy For Youl here at CVP. Class size is limited, sign-ups are first come first serve basis. Registration is done through the CVP website under ticketing.

Tentative Daily Schedule:

  • 10-10:30 Orientation (Monday only) 

  • Students should arrive at 10:15 for a prompt 10:30 start (Tuesday-Friday)

  • 10:30-11:50 Ballet Technique M-F

  • 12-1:30 Contemporary M, W, F/Jazz T, TH 

  • 1:30-2:00 lunch (bring your own lunch)

  • 2-2:50 Tap

  • 3:00- 4:00 Improvisation M, W, F / Conditioning T, TH

  • This is a tentative schedule; class styles are subject to change and special guest teachers may be used if available.

  • 4:00 PM is the official end of the day.

4-5 PM Wednesday and Thursday is reserved for individual and group performance practice and taking video and photos using your own device (a photographer may be present pending availability). This will take place on the stage if available otherwise it will be done in the studio. Friday AM schedule may also be altered to allow for further photos and video.

Preferred dance shoes

  • Ballet- ballet slippers

  • Contemporary/Jazz- bare feet/dance socks/jazz shoes or boots

  • Tap- flat, hard sole tap shoes are preferred but heeled tap shoes may be worn

  • Improvisation- bare feet/dance socks

  • Conditioning- sneakers

  • Students will need to pack a lunch, there will not be enough time to go out for lunch.  Lunch time will be used to refuel, rehydrate, and allow for questions and answers.

  • Students are encouraged to wear well-fitting dance attire.  Close fitting attire is preferred particularly for ballet.  More specific dress code guidance to be provided before the start of the session.

  • All students should bring a water bottle with secure lid
